Steven Universe

I've been watching this show for a few months now, and I gotta say. It's amazing. It's honestly better than Adventure time. And the last two episodes? WOW.

If you haven't seen it, I really recommend it if you like Adventure Time, or even MLP. It's only one season and each episode is around 10 minutes. The main character might seem annoying to you (he certainly did to me), but I guarantee that you will grow to love him.

It's pretty much my favorite show at the moment.

I'm not going to tell you anything about it though unless you ask me. It'd be better to binge watch it. :P

My sister watched me watch an episode a few weeks ago, and she got instantly hooked as well. There's two more episodes left, and I couldn't be more excited. They aired a new episode every day this week. It's been awesome.

Everyone knows you have a crush on Steven O'Brien. Enough of this will they or won't they; you aren't even very subtle about it anymore.

Am I doing this right?

ok can we move on now?

I've been watching Steven Universe since the pilot, and it's pretty good. I don't think it's quite as good as Adventure Time, however, because the writing can be pretty iffy (especially in the last 15 episodes or so). Still a great show, though. I particularly like how when Pearl changed her outfit, she actually kept it on for future episodes! I don't think I've ever seen that in a cartoon before.

Have you seen the last couple? Jail break is my favorite episode hands down. Also, Adventure Time hasn't excited me this much in a very long time. It's been a bit "meh" for a while now and Steven Universe just keeps getting better and better!

Yeah I've seen the new ones. While good story-wise, the plot felt as though it was being rushed-in over the period of about the last 10-15 episodes. A lot of the emotional bits felt forced or very 'info-dumpy', Rose's Scabbard being one particular example. I don't mind a focus shift from comedy and whimsicality to emotion and story, I just thought they handled it pretty badly by making people behave out of character.

I really wish the episodes were longer. It does make them feel a bit rushed.

Regarding moments that seem out of character, I recently read someone's thoughts on the Crystal Gem's lifespans that I thought was interesting.

If you compressed their ages down to a humans, Rose only really died a couple of days ago. Grief can make people act strangely.

Might explain why Pearl was acting so out of character in Rose's Scabbard.

PS: Garnet's song in "Jail Break" is going to be stuck in my head forever.

Oh, good, others think highly of SU here. I've been watching since the beginning, and the evolution is phenomenal. The complete lack of a status quo and tighter sense of continuity definitely sets this a notch above Adventure Time and Regular Show.

Also the fact that there is no such thing as filler. Everything thus far that's been billed as 'filler' based on the descriptions has so greatly outstripped expectation that you really can't go into a plot wearing a mask as silly as "Steven and Amethyst pretend to be hobos" without witnessing some major emotional moment or character development or plot event by the end.

Though I will agree with pacing issues. This last week has been such a wild ride- but the only thing that's held it all together is the way all of the plot points sort of compress towards the end of the season, and even that breaks the slow burn we've gotten used to thus far.

Also,Garnet is the only choice as far as favorites go.

Pearl used to be my favorite gem. Now it's garnet. Hands down.

I just marathoned the entire series in the last three days. I think I need to wait a few days to let it sink in, but it's pretty dang good. Connie is probably my favorite character.
