I recently finished a reading a book called "The Green Mile", by Steven King. It's one of the best books I've ever read. I wrote a review on my WordPress.com blog check it out here:

The Green Mile Blog Entry. Here's a sneak peak:

“The Green Mileâ€? is a great book by Steven King, and a must read in my opinion. Here’s why:

Storyline 5/5: The story line is original, and full of twists and turns to keep you going. The main character in this book is Paul Edgecomb, a prison guard for E Block, also know as death row. In this book he investigates the mysterious John Coffey who was arrested for the rape and murder of two young girls. [MORE]

Thanks for reading.

I read that book before. It's alot better than the movie. If you are looking for really good Steven King books, read the Bachman books.

If you enjoyed The Green Mile, you might also like From a Buick 8 (also by Steven King). I've read quite a lot of his works and it's some pretty good stuff.

John Coffey was the name of a player from the Boston Red Sox in 1918. He played second base, if I recall.

And yes, The Green Mile is an excellent story. I haven't seen the movie yet though.
