What's with everyone's bizarre rating schemes?

Dear most people I've seen rate games recently,

I've seen a lot of really bad rating here recently (and by bad I mean poorly done, not a low score). So I wrote this list of rules, and if you follow it, you might not kill an angel or something:

1) Only rate what the game/author claims the game will do. If I play a game that says that it is a simple platformer or something, I'm not looking for it to cook dinner or walk my dog. I'm looking for it to be a good platformer.

2) Don't down/uprate games based on whether they are registered or not. Gamer3Dwhatever, I'm looking at you here. That's just nonsensical. Do you hear me? NONSENSICAL.

3) Everyone's little rating scorecards things are cute and all, but they look idiotic. It's worst when someone is reviewing an example about something simple and it looks like this:

MUSIC: **/10, there's no music because it's an example lol

GAMEPLAY: **/10, it's an example so liek there's liek no gameplay heh

TOTALLY LEET CRAP: **/10, i mean you didn't use fifth-dimensional particles which i researched on wikipedia today so i guess i can't grade you on it but i totally would have

EXAMPLE: 10/10 because it is an example

OVERALL: 10/10, because when I learned how to add I added the "overall" category, (which in reality should be an average)

That beautiful litany of pure idiocy is something I see with increasing frequency.

4) Don't rate a game based on past versions. That's like saying, "Well the U.S. used to have 13 states so duh Europe is totally better because it has liek a million countries." Yes Einstein, and this blog is made of rainbows.

I definitely saw someone rate that recent message box example based on a bug that was quickly replaced. Good job, Scooby, on sniffing out that bug! You sure are smart, aren't you? TOO BAD IT ISN'T THERE ANYMORE.

5) Don't rate something because it bears some relation to another game or example. I would understand if it was an outright copy, but if someone has a different take on an example, rate theirs, not the one that preceded them.

Ok, I'm done, use this well.
