Vector Fighter

Vector Fighter is my new game which i've been working on over the last few months.
I started creating this game for a competition long long ago, but never got round to finishing it.

This demo contains:
- One Level
- One Boss
- A mass of SFX
- Some cool music, created by my friends TNQ and kirskuchken!

- File size: 6.1MB
- GM Version: GM7
- In Zip: 1 EXE | 1 DLL | 2 OGG

Nice graph style and effects. Gameplay is good. I'd like it if it was more obvious when you deal damage to an enemy, such as make them flash red or something. Controls are good, as is music. Fun game =)

Excellent stuff. This is looking very promising.

I agree with marbs, it would be nice to have some recognition of hitting an enemy/boss.

Good luck on finishing this.

I usually loathe games that refuse to have actual graphics but this didn't bother me the slightest because the game knew exactly what it was. As for the gameplay, I had a blast killing the smaller enemies but the boss bored me. Probably because I didn't know I was inflicting damage.

Because this isn't the final product, I'd give this 8/10 for the brillant control scheme.

You're right, most places i posted this on have said the same thing about the boss.
To be honest, the boss is the most rushed thing on the game, on taken one evening., rather than the whole of the development so far.

In my next update i will change it. (This may be bery soon!) :]

It's a fun game, and the effects are great. My fps was all over the place. In the main menu it ranged anywhere from 10 to 60. In the game, it stayed at a pretty constant 40 fps, except for when a song was over/new one started. My fps went straight to 1, and usually the only way to fix it was toggling full screen? I blame the dll not liking my old hardware. I played the boss for a good 10 minutes and decided to quit. The controls were great, although before I read them I thought space was my primary weapon and wasted a few minutes trying to get the damn thing to reload.

Fun game.

Pretty good, though the boss is pretty boring. the level wasnt that long either. also hard to tell the debris from the bullets, but i got to the boss with 80/100. i like the blocks, it adds scenary. and i love your double grid idea.

the game inspires me. anyway, for wip, id have to say 7 cause there isnt much to look t right now.

I got bored at the boss, too :)

I like it - nice style and music - but the popping sound is annoying. It just... doesn't fit.

I'm assuming you can't kill the boss.

Yeah, main think that would be nice would be if enemies flashed red or something when you hit them, other than that, excellent job! Great for a WIP!
