DarkStar Game System
What it is:
This is a system I made to make it simple for people to play the latest versions of my games by enabling them to automatically check for updates and download them, without having to open a single browser window.

What it does:
It gives you a list of games, and when you click on a game it asks you whether you want to download the latest version, launch the version that you have, or show you how to play. It also has a news section in which you can read the latest happenings relating to my games!

It includes many of the games that I have made, but not yet released to the public yet.
It also automatically updates itself whenever it finds that a new version has been released.

Name: Darkstar Game System
Size: 3.02 MB
Resolution: 640x480
Changes Resolution: No

Keep an eye out for new releases!

Special thanks to Fox-NL for Http File Downloader 1.2!! Gotta love that progress bar...

Try it out, and give me feedback!
If you would like your games hosted there too, just let me know and we'll set it up!

In the zip file, open DSGS.exe rather than Setup.exe. The setup is just for new versions that it will download. You may also have to extract it first, rather than running it straight from your ZIP program.

Target platforms:

nice effect and loading

Really cool but i didnt like the loadings and why have you done so you must download every game? It must be much more easier to just create the games in the folder 8/10

I think it may have you update twice... don't know why. Think it may have something to do with one of my download DLLs. Will try to fix in the next version :D

Well, this seems like a good idea, but a couple of things hinder its awesomeness in my eyes.

1.) F1 was left enabled, and the Game Information Screen is blank.
2.) F5 and F6 were left enabled, and there's nothing to save or load, really.
3.) You could see the DOS windows. Search the GMC for the SilentDOS DLL.
4.) The interface was kinda sucky, because you had to bring up a right-click-type menu just to see the status of the game, whether it's up-to-date or not, and such. Annoying!
5.) The whole thing looked really ugly, in my opinion. And not just non-intuitive as stated above; the skin just looked really bland and the graphical effects looked forced and disjointed.

But even with these minor flaws, this manages to be pretty sweet in my opinion. Too bad you made this Steam-esque system first; I was going to get started on 108update (the sequel to GMupdate), and make it kind of like this...oh well. I'll do it anyways. This has a few minor flaws, but I really think that if you just designed the skin a lot better I think it would be a 10/10 in my eyes. Since the skin is only tolerable, I'll give it...a 9/10.

Yeah... I'm not the best graphical designer. Good luck on yours, though.

Pretty cool, except that you can see the DOS windows, and it takes forever to download anything.
