The Virginia Tech massacre was a university shooting that unfolded as two separate attacks, approximately two hours apart, on April 16, 2007 on the campus of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States. A gunman killed 32 people[5] and injured another 29 before committing suicide, making it the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Dude, it's easy to acknowledge something, watch the news and you'll acknowledge it… but that has no effect on whether you feel for it or couldn't care less. If you have a stupid sarcasm tag, whether it's meant to offend or not, is making a joke out of something that is obviously not.
The murderer was mentally ill - there was very little anyone could do for it other than the counselling that was undergone on the murder before it all happened.
