Reseting the Game #64DSC
Posted on April 14, 2014 at 23:16
So, it looks like I'm probably starting over. This weekend, I had the unpleasant experience of having my hard drive fried for no apparent reason. Most of my stuff was backed up, except for most of my game data and some assorted word documents. The only thing I have left of my competition entry is this build I posted a week or so ago here.
This means that I will either try and remake what I already had, or start over with a new idea. I'm temporarily using an old version of Linux on a 16 gigabyte flash drive, so I don't have all the tools and resources that I'm used to. I'll try and make the best game I can with the remaining time, if I can get it to work. I'll try to post something here when I get something done, but I've kind of lost some of my motivation. Also, take my advice, and go back up your games. Good luck everyone!

Happy April 4th, everybody! Time for another update I finally got the enemy combat to work okay. I also improved NPC dialogue and added some other little things. Here's a little demo for all of you:
(Warning: May experience extreme cases of lag.)
Arrow Keys: Camera Control
K - Talk
L - Slice
Now I need to work on level and character design. I also should probably come up with a plot. I might try and add some menus, as well.
Looking forward to everyone else's games. Good luck!

Hello 64 Digits! This is both my first blog post, and my first Dev log for my competition entry. I've decided to try and make a game in black and white, and my tentative title is "Monochrome." I haven't decided much about story or characters, but I have gotten a good start with character control. I even have an NPC.
You can play with my current build here:
I guess I should explain the controls:
WASD - move
Arrow keys - Camera
L - Slice
I'm going to try and add basic combat today, and maybe I'll work on developing the story a little more.
Anyways, Good Luck with the competition everyone!
