RA - Systematic Chaos

That's right. The cover for the new Dream Theater album, Systematic Chaos. Some say it doesn't make any sense whatsoever but I think it makes perfect sense. Watch Ants, they all race around chaotically - yet they're very 'systematic', they have a huge tunnel system and way of life thats very sophisticated. And look at highways, they're also very chaotic and very systematic. Though, it could mean a number of other things too - for instance, Ants have a system that's very sophisticated that they can understand, and we're making so many systems we're tripping over our own feet - the highways a depiction of this (which highway goes where?)… and so we're becoming weaker than the common ant! Or the album is about killer ants the size of cars destroying our highway system, I dunno.

So yeah, I'm excited about the album - plus a new Symphony X Album, new Bon Jovi album, new Within Temptation album, new Porcupine Tree album, etc etc etc. Though in other news, I've decided that even though I'm heck-busy with school / college / work (2 freaking jobs) / jamming sessions / web-design business, I need to get a move on with Conflict: Online - and so I've started putting all the concepts of the online part together, and am writing a large development guide (that is open source for other members to edit) so that we can write the game sophisticatedly.

looks like that japanees game where giant bugs take over and you have to kill them off….

is this band your band?

Haha, I wish it was my band. No, Dream Theater is a Progressive Rock band… one of the most amazing musicians I've ever seen. And that ain't just an opinion, all muso's I know appreciate Dream Theater for their musical talent.

Check out their website: http://www.dreamtheater.net

If you want to check out some of their albums, I recommend Metropolis Pt2: Scenes from A Memory for a mix of their heavy stuff and progressive/conceptual stuff, Train of Thought for their heavier stuff mainly, and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence for their classical/orchestral/symphonic pieces.

Since 'systematic chaos' is an oxymoron, it probably shouldn't make sense to anyone [;)]

Oxymoron's don't have to not make sense. They're politically incorrect terms, like "Deafening Silence" - still makes sense but it's not politically correct.

Silence is deafening because you can hear your heartbeat and breathing, esp if you have been exerting yourself. Systematic chaos is bunk.

Stop thinking so logically, it just ants and a few roads >=O

Unless you find it fun to torment me with thinking during the holidays…

Aye, like brain storm and mind map. Apparently, its not "politically correct" to say brain storm any more.

As to why? Search me.
